People of Faith turned out in Richmond to protest the CA Supreme Court Decision and to raise awareness of how the decision in CA relates to the fight for marriage equality in Virginia.

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Richmonders gathered downtown to protest Tuesday's ruling by the California supreme court, upholding that state's ban on same-sex marriage, but some in the gay community believe the ruling is a partial victory.  Read the complete article here.

June 2009  The Rev. Dr. Robin Gorsline, President of the POFEV Board issued a statement regarding the California Supreme Court decision at the Day of Decision Rally in Richmond, VA.

People of Faith members made their voices heard in opposition of discriminatory legislation during the 2006 General Assembly session and the campaign against the Marshall-Newman Amendment.

Bull Run Unitarian Universalist Church

Bull Run UU Church in Manassas issued an open letter to the people of Virginia on August 17th, 2006 stating its position against the Marriage Amendment.  The letter was issued in a double-sided pamphlet but is available in PDF format here.

January 17, 2006 Rev. Robin H Gorsline, co-convener of POFEV, delivered a speech to the Senate Privelages and Elections Committee asking them to oppose the Virginia Marriage Amendment.


"We recognize that family, like faith, comes in many different shapes. This amendment does nothing to support family life; instead it singles out particular families—and not just gay and lesbian families, but families of people who choose not be married—and explicitly denies them any hope for support and nurture by our government.
